Como parte de su proceso de formación académica, los estudiantes de la Especialidad y los Cursos de Comando y Estado Mayor y Operaciones Militares para Oficiales Auxiliares de la Escuela de Graduados de Estudios Militares del Ejército de República Dominicana, EGEMERD, de la Facultad de Ciencias Militares del INSUDE, realizaron un recorrido académico por las Unidades Militares apostadas en la zona fronteriza Norte.
Los estudiantes fueron acompañados por el Mayor Gral. (R) Ramiro Matos González, EN., el Embajador Williams Páez Piantini, el Cnel. Jorge Luis Vásquez Suarez, ERD, (DEM), Director Gral. de EGEMERD, su plana Mayor, Oficiales Superiores del cuerpo docente y un cuerpo médico.
Durante su recorrido, visitaron las instalaciones de la 2da. Brigada de infantería del ERD, “Gral.de División Fernando Valerio”, que comanda el General de Brigada Fernando Arturo Pérez Jiménez ERD, el Comando Conjunto Norte de las FFAA, el Interagencial FTC Jicomé, la Fortaleza Beller, sede del 10mo. Batallón de Infantería del ERD, «Gral. Francisco Antonio Salcedo», en Dajabón.
Así mismo, visitaron las instalaciones de la Escuela de Capacitación del CESFRONT, ESCAFRONT en capotillo, donde participaron en un conversatorio con el embajador William Páez Piantini y el Mayor General ®. Ramiro Matos González EN, sobre la frontera dominico haitiana y los acontecimientos de la anexión y el grito de Capotillo.
Las autoridades y los estudiantes de EGEMERD visitaron la fortaleza 2Tte. Miguel Rodríguez Aybar, EN, en Restauración, luego la fortaleza General Benito Monción, EN., sede de la 4 brigada de infantería del ERD.
Los estudiantes recibieron varias Conferencias in Situ, por parte del señor Embajador William Páez Piantini y el Mayor Gral.(R) Ramiro Matos González, E.N., sobre hechos y acontecimientos relevantes de la historia patria, las epopeyas militares y la analogía y transferencia doctrinal de las operaciones de entonces y el planeamiento y ejecución de las operaciones terrestres.
El recorrido fue realizado por instrucciones del Mayor Gral. Carlos A. Fernández Onofre, Comandante Gral. del @ejercitord
