Santo Domingo.-. El comandante Gral. del Ejército de República Dominicana, Mayor Gral. Carlos A. Fernández Onofre, ERD., dispuso la designación del coronel Jorge Luis Vásquez Suarez, ERD., (DEM), como nuevo director general de la Escuela de Graduados de Estudios Militares del Ejército de República Dominicana, en sustitución del coronel Leandro Pérez.
La Ceremonia fue celebrada en el Frontispicio de EGEMERD, con la presencia del personal docente, administrativo y de apoyo de la Escuela y se desarrolló en un ambiente de solemnidad y estricta armonía militar, donde el coronel Leandro Pérez, hizo entrega del banderín de la escuela al coronel Vásquez Suarez, que simboliza el traspaso de mando del director general saliente al entrante.
El acto fue presidido por el Mayor Gral. Carlos A. Fernández Onofre, comandante General del ERD, acompañado por el Gral. de Brigada Ángel Alfredo Camacho Ubiera, Sub Comandante General de la Institución.
El Mayor Gral. Fernández Onofre, al entregarle el Memorándum de designación, exhortó al coronel Jorge Luis Vásquez Suarez, ERD., (DEM), a trabajar fuerte para que EGEMERD continúe formando oficiales idóneos tanto en el Curso de Comando y Estado Mayor, como en los demás programas que se desarrollan en la escuela.
El coronel Vásquez Suarez, manifestó su agradecimiento por la confianza depositada en él, por el Mayor Gral. Fernández Onofre, dando garantías de que trabajará arduamente para fortalecer cada vez más, la casa de altos estudios militares del ERD.
Luego de concluir la Ceremonia, el comandante General, acompañado por el Sub Comandante, el director entrante y el saliente, realizó un recorrido por las instalaciones físicas de la escuela militar.
