En el marco del inicio del año lectivo 2024, el Mayor Gral. Carlos A. Fernández Onofre, Comandante General del Ejército de República Dominicana, realizó una visita a las instalaciones de la Escuela de Graduados de Estudios Militares del ERD (EGEMERD), perteneciente a la Facultad de Ciencias Militares de la Universidad Nacional para la Defensa (UNADE).
Durante su visita, el Mayor General Fernández Onofre dirigió palabras de aliento y motivación a los estudiantes de la Promoción 2024 de la especialidad y del Curso en Comando y Estado Mayor para Fuerzas Terrestres. Instó a los oficiales a dedicarse de manera comprometida a sus estudios, destacando la importancia de utilizar los conocimientos adquiridos en EGEMERD para contribuir al servicio de su institución, patria y desarrollo personal.
Con el objetivo de facilitar el proceso académico y fomentar un mejor rendimiento, el Comandante General entregó una Computadora Portátil a cada estudiante, subrayando la importancia de contar con herramientas tecnológicas en el desarrollo de sus actividades académicas. La ceremonia contó con la presencia del Gral. de Brigada Ángel Alfredo Camacho Ubiera, Sub Comandante General, así como del Coronel Jorge Luis Vásquez Suarez, ERD (DEM), Director General de EGEMERD. También estuvieron presentes los miembros de la plana Mayor y el personal docente y administrativo de la escuela de altos estudios militares del Ejército. El Coronel Vásquez Suarez expresó su agradecimiento por el continuo respaldo de la Comandancia General del ERD, resaltando el compromiso del Mayor General Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre con la formación profesional de los oficiales del Ejército de República Dominicana. Este gesto reafirma el compromiso de la institución con el desarrollo académico y profesional de sus miembros, consolidando así un futuro sólido para la fuerza militar del país.
